Today was an amazing day for Bryce and our family. We were able to meet Bryce's Mission President and his sweet wife. President and Sister Glazier spoke at their home ward after returning from the San Salvador, El Salvador mission. They shared their testimonies about the power of the Book of Mormon. We were excited to hear their talks as they testified of the Book of Mormon and how well they went along with our Family Home Evening lesson last Monday.
We made it to Orem today and offer our many thanks to our dear friends for loaning us their van while ours is in the shop getting fixed- we made it safe and happy. As we were approaching 'Point of the Mountain', we noticed this burnt smell beginning to fill the van. When we looked for the the source of the smell, we saw a car ahead of us with their back tire smoking. We quickly wrote on a piece of paper- "Your Tire" and we pulled up along side of this young woman's car to let her know to pull over. As she pulled off the freeway into the emergency lane, her tire literally came off the rim and went spinning about 30 feet in front of her. We quickly pulled over and Matt and Tom hopped out to help her get back on the road again. I joined the boys so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable. The boys jumped in and changed the tire and sent her on her way within 10 minutes. She asked if we were on our way to church and I introduced us as the boys worked at getting things tightened up. We were surprised at how hot her tire and rim were as we used our Kleenexes as hot pads to pick up what was left of her tire. I'm so glad we stopped to help her and that no one was hurt. We also made it in time for church and managed to get a soft seat in the chapel. :) (It was packed into the gym and on the stage.) Bryce waited in line amongst the many missionaries to greet President and Sister Glazier. When they hugged for the first time- my emotions got the best of me and I used up all of my tissues before the meeting even started. We also noticed that President Glazier wore his 'Preach My Gospel' tie, along with several of his missionaries. This tie was given to the missionaries from the Glazier's.
Baseball for Family Home Evening
Team Matt, Bryce and Gracie!
Don't let Bryce fool you- He hit several home runs left-handed!
Last Monday we spent the evening playing a game of baseball! Don't let Bryce fool you- he still has that competitive spirit in him and even though he was batting left-handed, he was able to hit several home runs! We had to change the rules so that if they hit it out of yard, it was an automatic out.
Matt taught the Family Home Evening lesson on Monday and challenged us to read the Book of Mormon by Gracie's baptism, September 6th. This means we need to read 10 pages a day! His lesson was taken from the October 2011 Ensign, The Book of Mormon- Keystone of Our Religion, by Ezra Taft Benson.
"Our beloved brother, President Marion G. Romney … testified of the blessings that can come into the lives of those who will read and study the Book of Mormon. He said:
“I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness.”
These promises—increased love and harmony in the home, greater respect between parent and child, increased spirituality and righteousness—are not idle promises, but exactly what the Prophet Joseph Smith meant when he said the Book of Mormon will help us draw nearer to God.
Brethren and sisters, I implore you with all my heart that you consider with great solemnity the importance of the Book of Mormon to you personally and to the Church collectively."
We have a great responsibility to do all we can to change ourselves and become more like our Savior. Then we should share what we learn with others so that it may bless their lives as well.

Bryce has been going to Physical Therapy and gaining his strength back. He amazes me as he beat me done in the ladder exercises they have him do. I usually try everything he does. :) This is really a team effort in getting him well and we are grateful for the doctors and friends and family that have been so supportive.
Most of all, we are grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ. We know that one day Bryce will be made whole again. We are so grateful for what He has done for us and for the guidance we have been blessed with in finding answers to our prayers. We are blessed to have so many praying for us. We appreciate and love you all!

After waiting in line to greet President and Sister Glazier, Gracie found out about the stash of cookies.
We didn't want to say goodbye!
We are so grateful for these two for accepting the call to serve and for taking care of my boy!
Thank You!
