Prayers are Answered

Last month- actually 7 weeks ago, we had some referrals sent to our Insurance company for Bryce to see someone at the Mayo Clinic.  One referral came from our diligent and amazing Immunologist, Dr Jones.  The other two came from our GI doctor and our family physician. We have called our insurance every week for the past 4 weeks to find out the status on Bryce's referral.  Today, our prayers were answered!

Dr Lam, the physician who has been studying Bryce's case, called today to talk to Bryce about his health situation.  After 7 weeks of studying his blood labs, surgeries and other medical records, Dr Lam felt that Bryce should see an Infectious Disease team at University of Utah.  If, for some reason the University of Utah doctors cannot figure things out- they will send us to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.  (Arizona sounds really nice right now, but we are fine with staying home too.)

We have been praying for help- help in finding the right medical doctor, help with our referrals, and if we are not supposed to go to the Mayo Clinic, that they could refer us to someone who could help Bryce.  After talking with Christy, (someone working on Bryce's case) she reassured me today, that once they receive a referral from our family physician, she would call and set up the appointment for Bryce at University of Utah and she would help make things run as smoothly as possible.

As a side note, Christy also said that a doctor she works with had a son who returned early from El Salvador while on his mission, with some health issues.  After seeing the doctors at the U of U, he is now feeling better, after seven months of illness.

Thank you for your prayers!
