Well, today was a momentous day! We received a nice phone call from our insurance company to tell us the great news - they have approved our referral to go to the Mayo Clinic. This is exciting news for us. This also means that they will cover everything as if we were going to the doctors here (In Network), which is a big help. If we hadn't waited for them to process everything, we would have to pay for the expenses out of our own pocket. We still need to figure out travel, room and board, etc. There are a few bugs we are trying work out with setting up our appointment with the clinic and making sure that we have everything we need from our doctors and such. Hopefully, we will be able to set up the appointment by Monday.
Over Spring Break we did get to enjoy some fun activities as a family. Bryce finished his watercolor painting while we visited with Grandpa and Grandma Stakebake. We had a "no screen" week before General Conference, which was over spring break. However, we allowed the kids to check their e-mails and Facebook in a 15 minute time frame. If they were to get on Facebook, they had to post uplifting things! (for example: Inspiring Quotes, Meaningful Family Photos, Words of Encouragement, etc.) We also took a fun family trip (without Tom, who was fervently working on his Dissertation) to the Church History Library and the Family History Center. We found some neat things at the Library that has us wanting to go back really soon. We found a story about our great-great-great grandfather and his encounter with one of the three Nephites. Unfortunately we didn't have time to read it, because it was almost time for them to close.
We are looking forward to brighter days ahead. This Sunday is our Fast Sunday and we will definitely be fasting for Bryce.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
