September 29, 2012 Placing a Book of Mormon

Dear Mom,

How is it going? Well things here are going just great. I can`t believe that it is already Saturday.

Well, I love the pictures, they are great. In answer to your questions,

1. How did your week go- out contacting and teaching people? in Spanish?
Our contacting went really well. Elder Funk and Elder Harumi got paired up with Latinos and I got paired up with Elder Heiner.  It was a lot of fun.  We actually did talk to some people about the gospel and we got to place a Book of Mormon with one. They actually seemed really interested in the gospel. It was a really neat experience though.

2. Last question answered this one.

3. Did you feel the earthquake on the 27th of Sept? (It was just North West of you near Huehuetanango)
No I didn't feel any earthquake.

4. How is your Spanish coming?
My spanish is slowly coming along. I have to do most of the teaching during our lessons because my companion doesn't know what to say. But we are working on having him talk more than me in these next lessons.

5. Do you want me to send back your Zebra pen? (I super glued it back together and it's working now.)
I don`t care if you send the zebra pen back or not. You can give it to Ty or Matt or someone if you want. I have more with me.

6. Do you want me to send any cd's with a cd player when you get to the mission home? (we found Marshall McDonalds music on iTunes and he has over 50 songs on there including, "If You Could Hie to Kolob"with and without violin)
Yeah, if you would send me some cd's and a cd player that would be great.

Well, I think that answers all of the questions. So, this week has really flown by. It is hard to remember everything that I did. I really love going to the temple here. It is really neat. We always have to get these translator box things so that we can understand what is being said. But it is still amazing. Yeah, this Tuesday we get to go out into the city again. All of the Latinos here are going to be leaving on Monday or Tuesday. It is really sad. But I am excited for them. I can`t wait until conference though. It is going to be so great. Well, I love you all so much and hope that all goes well.

Hasta ver!

Letter To Matt:

Well, my brother, how's it going. Well, my Spanish is coming along. I can understand more and more and am beginning to be able to speak more and more. But I still am working on it. Yeah, I know exactly how you feel when you read the Book of Mormon. Lately I have been reading a lot more in it and the Spirit is really a lot stronger when you do read. Also I have found that you learn a lot more things when you constantly have the Spirit with you. Right now, I am reading about the Anti-Nephi Lehi's and I have learned so much. It is amazing.

Well bro, thanks for all the help you've given me. I am truly grateful for you as my brother. May you find peace and happiness in all that you do.

Letter To Tyler:

Well Ty, I had my letter all written but then it deleted it, so I am not going to have the best English grammar and stuff. Well that is great that school is going really well and that you are loving your classes. Things down here are really great. The weather is perfect, not to hot and not to cold. However, the other day we had a really crazy rain storm. It rained so hard, then it rained even harder. It was crazy. Yesterday I played soccer and made a few goals. Well I have to go and will talk to you later.

Semper Fi,
Elder Bryce Hales
